The 'Knowledge and Inspiration Session' organized by Inholland University of Applied Sciences x CLICKNL International.

Immersive Experiences (IX) play an increasingly important role in our lives. Think of virtual reality, 360 degree image/video, augmented reality, chatbots, interactive animation and games. Worldwide, IX is seen as one of the drivers of the third great digital transition, which will have a major impact on our daily lives, working, learning and recreation. SXSW is the world's premier annual event at the intersection of tech, creativity and social issues.

ARE YOU AN ACADEMIC RESEARCHER?
Are you curious about where your peers from North America and Canada are working in this field? Then sign up for this knowledge and inspiration session at SXSW from 12:00-14:00 including lunch.

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO?
During this work session, we will identify and map the substantive themes and (focal points) of practice-based research regarding related to immersive experiences in the Netherlands, the United States and Canada.

Together we will explore the landscape and map the recent and ongoing research lines of IX of these three countries. After this working session, we will be better informed about current knowledge questions and which researchers are working on what.
From the Netherlands, the substantive, thematic focus is on: the capacity to realize and increase IX, enable industry and its creators to cash in on opportunities with respect to IX and what is needed to do so, among other things, on:
- Applications of IX in culture (digital culture).
- Gaming, media and entertainment, events, manufacturing
- Built environment
- Public services and public values
Our ambition is to explore and foster research collaborations between Canada, North America and the Netherlands on this theme to strengthen our own knowledge base and build a more vital world together.
